Diversity is a fact,
inclusivity is a choice
We live in a society of hyperdiversity. Therefore, we must ensure that our society is truly inclusive, allowing everyone to find their place and contribute actively.
How? By promoting encounters between cultures and generations, and by fighting inequalities and discrimination.

A twofold observation
In Belgium, it has been statistically proven for many years that:
⚠️ Young people with immigration backgrounds from outside the European Union (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations) face unequal access to the labor market, regardless of their education level.
⚠️ People over 50 have relatively low participation rates in the workforce and face a lack of recognition for their skills.
Our vision
By acting as a bridge between generations and cultures, DUO for a JOB aims to support the professional integration of young people with an immigration background, while fostering understanding, open-mindedness, and empathy to build a society that values respect for differences.
Unlocking the potential of young people
Mentoring is a powerful tool to enhance access to the job market and create opportunities for young people with a migrant background to realize their potential and fulfill their aspirations.
Changing the way we look at diversity
Mentoring contributes to a more nuanced perception of “the other” and helps build a society where diversity is viewed positively.

Our mission
Since 2013, DUO for a JOB has been bridging generations through a mentoring program in numerous cities across Belgium, France, and The Netherlands.
In practice, it's involves a situation where a volunteer “mentor,” trained by our association, shares their experience with a young “mentee” to help develop their skills, increase their autonomy, and guide them in identifying and achieving their professional goals.
This dynamic is based on matching, apprenticeship and mutual trust. Once in a duo, the pair meet for two hours a week for six months and are supervised by a coordinator from the non-profit association.
But DUO for a JOB is more than just an effective integration tool. It is a project of openness and solidarity, bringing together people of different ages, origins, and neighborhoods around shared values. Through meaningful encounters, it offers a powerful experience that helps break down prejudices and combat discrimination.
Our values

Promoting diversity
DUO for a JOB promotes and values diversity in origins, ages, skills, and experiences because we believe that diversity is an asset that fosters mutual learning, creativity, and innovation.
To support this, DUO for a JOB encourages solidarity by creating connections based on intergenerational exchange, collaboration, and mutual aid within its community.
